The announcer’s voice was loud and monotone.
The audience began to settle into their seats and they grew quiet. The holoscreens switched from advertisements to focus on the arena floor some forty feet below the stands. Black gravel covered the floor and scraps of metal littered the outskirts of the arena.
“Entering the arena from the blue door, returning Champion…… Kafkar Notaru!”
The announcer stretched the syllables giving it a grandiose impression.
